The 12th annual Nelson Garden Festival sponsored by the West Kootenay Eco Society.
This springtime event is always held on the Saturday before Mother's Day in Nelson, BC. Join me on a leisurely stroll down historic Baker Street for a little taste of this wonderful event.
I chatted with two of the organizers, Suzy Hamilton and Maggie Jones, who provide a bit of insight into the history, purpose and benefits of Nelson's Garden Festival. Suzy has been a volunteer with the West Kootenay Eco Society for many years and also involved with another Eco Society project; the Kokanee Creek Visitors Centre.
I also speak with two local street musicians, Bronwyn and Neva, who happen to be sisters. Bronwyn plays the cello and Neva plays the violin. They recenlty moved to Nelson from Victoria, BC, and they love it here.
